Pakiti

From SysadminWiki

Pakiti is a monitoring utility which displays, via a web page, the status of your nodes with respect to any updated rpms (patches). Every night a small client on the node checks to see if there are any updates required (it uses 'yum check update' or equivalent). The client reports back to the pakiti server which stores a record in a mysql data base. No updates are made but the web page provides a visual indication of any nodes that require patches, in particular nodes are marked red if there are outstanding security patches. Nodes that have not reported in for more than a day or so can also be highlighted.

The software can be down loaded from http://pakiti.sourceforge.net/

Also in use at Glasgow - Contact Andrew Elwell - we have patched it slightly to show the default grub kernel too - see http://www.scotgrid.ac.uk/wiki/index.php/Pakiti
